That raid sounds dope

Blizzard took to Twitch this week to broadcast an update forWorld of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, and it’s a doozy.

In the coming monthsBFAwill host update 8.1, the first major patch of the expansion. It’llcontinue the war campaign (Alliance vs. Horde ongoing bonus story), Incursions (reworked LegionAssaults), more raids (including the Siege of Zuldazar, with three bosses for each faction and three static bosses), the Battle for Darkshore Warfront, more island expeditions, heritage armor for legacy races (Blood Elves and Dwarves are confirmed), more general story interludes (including beats for Vol’jin’s history and an update on Saurfang), more world quests, a two-boss micro-raid, an Azerite (gear) system rework, a pet dungeon, new races (the already confirmed Kul Tirans and Zandalari trolls), and an account-wide achievement system for alts (a huge win for the community as this is been requested since the 2004 launch).

For those of you who don’t play, the Siege of Zuldazar has potentially huge implications for the storyline. It’s currently the capital city of the horde in the expansion, and several pieces of the chess board have been placed for some big deaths. The aspect of unique faction bosses also excites me as someone who has raid-ready characters on each side.

Players have speculated that due to concerns from the community that the stream was bumped up from BlizzCon (a presentation the team usually does during a weekend panel).BFAcertainly has issues (island expeditions and Warfronts especially) but I’m currently working on my fourth 120 at the moment (a Mag’har) and I’m still having a blast. I have a feeling 8.1 will keep those good times going.
