Ubiktune, the same netlabel that brought you the Genesis-flavoredSOUNDSHOCK 2and virt’s excellentFX4albums, is back with a brand new release by Ken “coda” Snyder calledtracer. I really think coda is one of the most talented artists in the retro music scene, being a member of yogurtbox, the group responsible forTree of Knowledge(you can hear a sample on ourSoundcloud) as well as contributing to numerous compilation albums over the years. Oh, and herocked out MAGFesta few years back too.

It seems coda has now ventured out on his own withtracer, a four-track album spanning over 25 minutes ofretromazinggoodness. There’s retro funk that will remind you of the demoscene, a smooth electronic track that sounds like it was taken right out of a shmup title, a spacey rock track, and another rockin’ tune that would easily fit in a beat ’em up title likeTMNT. And as always, it’s name-your-own-price viaBandcamp.
