[Disclosure: I backed the Kickstarter for the Mother original arranged soundtrack on vinyl.]
Earlier this year, independent record label Ship to Shore PhonoCo. acquired the licensing rights to release theMothersoundtrack on vinylfor western audiences and took to Kickstarter to try and get the project off the ground. The Kickstarter campaign was a huge success, resulting in not only vinyl copies of the soundtrack being printed, but CDs as well.
In fact, the project was so successful that Ship to Shore is now planning to release the officialMother 2soundtrack on vinyl also!Pre-orders for the albumwill be available starting tomorrow, and it’s expected to ship January 2016, not long after theMotheralbum ships. Kickstarter backers of the first album will also be able to receive a special gift if they pre-order theMother 2soundtrack.
The vinyl will be printed in four different designs, including red/black swirl (Giygas theme), blue/yellow split (Ness’ shirt theme), pink (hot spring theme), and classic black. They all look pretty nifty, but I think the hot spring pink option might be my favorite.
