In case you didn’t know, I really lovedNo More Heroes 2. Though there are some things I like more about the original, the sequel still gave me just about everything I wanted.

One of the things cut from the originalNo More Heroeswas the over-world. At the time, that didn’t bother me, but now that I’m reading more about the upcoming WiiWare titleRetro City Rampage, I’m starting to change my mind. IfNo More Heroes 2had an over-world, this is how it should have worked.

The latest details on the game, pilfered from the latest Nintendo Power and posted onNeoGaf, make the game sound like a perfect synthesis of the crime sandbox genre and the retro-parody comedy. On one hand, you’re able to steal cars, listen to various radio stations, rob banks, avoid cops, obtain various weapons and clothes, and bear witness to various movie and game parodies (Metal Gear,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, andSonicparodies confirmed). On the other hand, you can jump on people’s heads to knock them out, then pick them up and throw them aroundMario 3-style.

If they do make aNo More Heroes 3, I hope it has an over-world like this. In the meantime, I’m be playing the hell of outRetro City Rampage. Even if the game doesn’t turn out to be stellar, the premise alone makes it a must-play.
