Make those shiny faces that little bit shinier

Square Enixhas announcedthat it will be rolling out a PS5 upgrade option to theFinal Fantasy VII Remakeplayers who “purchased” the title via PlayStation Plus back in March of this year. If you recall, the critically acclaimed RPG was offered out as one ofMarch’s PlayStation Plusofferings but, as a caveat, players were unable to receive the free upgrade to the title’s next-gen edition.

Well, as of this week, it seems that this is no longer the case. Anybody who has the PS Plus edition ofFinal Fantasy VII Remake, (and a PS5, obviously), will be able to upgrade to the new version. The PS5 port features faster loading times, improved texture quality, and new performance options including 2160p visuals at 30 FPS or 1512p visuals at a slicker 60 FPS. Additionally, DLC expansionIntermissionwill retail at a 25% discount for a limited time. So you see, it benefits Square Enix to roll out the upgrade, given the additional DLC sales that it will facilitate. I see you, SE.
