Fans call for Capcom to revisit the project

Some time ago, we learned off a rather odd project from Capcom — a grittyMega Man XFPS ideathat never saw the light of day. Yep, Keiji Inafune gave ex-Retro Studios alumni the idea to re-imagineMega Mansimilar toMetroid Prime, but the concept never got past the greenlight stage. It seems as if a number of fans aren’t giving up hope, as an“Operation Maverick Hunter”fan page has opened on Facebook, alongside of afan-led petition.

I have no real opinion on the game even as amassiveMega Manfan, as I don’t particularly like dumping on things we have no real information for. I’m not sureMega Manreally needed a “gritty reboot,” but if the game was good, I would have enjoyed it for what it was. I mean hey, it worked out forMetroid Prime. At this point, I think people are just hungry for a newMega Mangame and will take anything.
