That game is Midway’sMortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, and the edit in question concerns the famous Joker fatality that wasreported to have been snippedin order to secure a Teen rating. “That’s partly true [that the fatality has been edited] … You know, for North America we have a Teen rating, and teen really means 13 and above,” explains senior producer Hans Lo....

It’s rare that a demo hooks me in as quickly asMouthwashingdid. Sure, plenty of games have solid slices showcasing a few cool gameplay elements that make me intrigued, curious, or interested to see the final build. Japan always gets the best things Usually I wouldn’t make this big of a deal over something that is (so far) only releasing in Japan, butKingdom Hearts Unchained X[chi]is just too cute to pass up. The iOS and Android game is based off a Japan-onlybrowser game,Kingdom Hearts X[chi], which is just as adorable. Not a lot is known aboutUnchained X[chi]quite yet, but it looks like it’ll take place during the Great Keyblade War and will loosely tie in with the events ofKingdom Hearts III....

2,000 to 3,000 yen When the Switch arrives we’ll be entering a paid online era for Nintendo. Hopefully that comes with perks like dedicated servers (ha) for some games and better infrastructure —for now, at the very least, we don’t have to pay for it. But when we do later in the year (whenever they flip that switch), it’ll at least be cheaper than the competition. According to Dr. Serkan Toto, a Tokyo-based games consultant, Nintendo president Kimishima confirmed to Nikkei that the Switch’s online pricing will be around 2,000 to 3,000 yen, which roughly translates to $17-$26 per year....

At a recentSonic Generationspanel during Paris Games Week, Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka revealed that the originalSonic the Hedgehogwill be available in the upcoming nostalgic platformer as a full unlockable game. Sonic Team also showed off the game’s level hub, which is a scrolling selection of doors containing levels and littered with Sonic’s furry friends. Don’t worry — their inclusion seems minimal and not too horrific. Sonic 1is a cool bonus but it’s a shame they couldn’t include all the Genesis titles....

Singularity 6 has released the full patch notes for version 0.170 ofPalia. Update 170 introduces the spooky Halloween-themed pumpkins to the social MMO. The event brings with it the Spooky Moon Set, an all-new obstacle course, and the ability to romance Hodari. Players will now also be able to communicate more easily with the addition of Flare Arrows and a Nearby Chat function. Finally, filter options have been added to the Workbench, allowing players to sort through their recipes more easily....

Persona 4 Goldenwill be releasing in North America on Jun 10, 2025, Atlus announced today. That gives some of us a decent chunk of time to set aside money for a PlayStation Vita. Thisexpanded takeon the beloved PlayStation 2 title did well in Japan, and I suspect it’ll be a system seller for fans here too. Atlus also dropped off some new combat-centric screenshots to accompany the news. Somewhere in Tokyo, Dale North is losing his mind....

Clearly fake I’ve always been interested in compiling a list of petitions in the gaming sphere. Seeing which ones worked, which ones didn’t, and nail down a success rate. Many like Project Rainfall have gotten what they wanted, and others spawned unity like 100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3 even if they didn’t ultimately get their wish. Some have no chance — like thisFar Cry 5petition. Tired of “multicultural lectures and preachy games,” this petition “draws a line in the sand,” and demands that Ubisoft cancel the game....

Somehow mobile devices don’t count Every now and then, a game developer likes to state something so blatantly obvious that your shoulders will spontaneously shrug in utter bafflement. In a recent interview with Game Informer, Game Freak (the developer behindPokemon) thought it was necessary to go on record to state thatPokemonis unlikely to be heading to any platforms not created by Nintendo. Their official claim, as stated by Junichi Masuda (one of the directors from Game Freak), is, “WithPokémon, at least, we really feel it is really important to be with Nintendo, specifically with thePokémontitles, so I don’t think that [release on another platform] would ever happen....

In an interview session last week, Matt Tieger, Game Director at High Moon Studios, told me something before I playedTransformers: War for Cybertronin multiplayer mode.
