Sometimes, silly fan casts are not necessary. Occasionally, they come to life in Hollywood. At least, that’s what the reported cast for the upcoming Street Fighter movie feels like. Did you ever think you’d see 50 Cent, Roman Reigns, and Jason Momoa working together in anything, let alone in a video game adaptation? Me neither. But that’s what’s happening, according toThe Hollywood Reporter. True news: Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson to play Balrog in Legendary’s STREET FIGHTER video game adaptation....

Republique gets a PS4 trailer, still isn’t done nearly two years after launch

Five episodes If you’re interested in espionage narratives and stealth-based gameplay,Republiquemay be your huckleberry when it releases next year on PS4, with all five episodes bundled together. I enjoyed what I’ve played of the initial few since it launched in 2013, but like I’ve said in the past, I completely lost interest after there was no communication as to when the story would be finished after months of waiting. I guess it’s good to know that the whole shebang will be arriving in “early 2016....

Review in Progress: Dragon Quest of the Stars

Gems for sale! Get your gems! Dragon Questis, without a doubt, one of my favorite properties in all of entertainment. It’s also one that tends to leave me yearning far more often than it quenches my thirst for it. While we in the west need not fear a lack of localization for non-MMO mainline entries in the franchise, a good chunk ofDragon Questgames don’t see our shores. Several 3DS titles never left Japan, along with numerous arcade machines and mobile apps....

Shining Resonance looks like a JRPG from JRPG folk

Sega and the Wild Arms developer We’ve not said much on the upcomingShining Resonancefrom Sega andWild Arms‘ Media Vision, so here are some nice pictures and a trailer we missed at Tokyo Game Show. Looking through the pictures I was almost inclined to think this would be a less…budget-looking JRPG, but then I watched the trailer and those thoughts were dealt with. And the guy with the fur-lined gown fighting enemies with a guitar....

Sony: PSP has a ‘ten year life cycle’

The “ten year life cycle” excuse has been trotted out by Sony so many times that it’s taken on the properties of a self parody. Whenever the PS3 wasn’t doing so well, Sony would claim “TEN YEARS” and that would make everything better. Well, it worked for the PS3, so why not try the same excuse for the PSP? “There is absolutely a 10-year life cycle for PSP, and probably more,” says SCEA’s John Koller....

Star Wars: Squadrons won’t have any post-launch content

‘Post-launch’ is a double entendre here Ironically enough, you have to go all the way to the hard vacuum of outer space for this breath of fresh air:Star Wars: Squadronsisn’t trying to be a live service game. That’s right, an entry in a major media property from a major publisher isn’t trying to monopolize your time with an endless roadmap. In an interview withUploadVR, creative director Ian Frazier explains how EA took an “old school approach” to development onStar Wars: Squadrons....

Sure, I’d take a stroll through Pokemon Gold/Silver in Animal Crossing

Watch below for a lengthy walkthrough People have been playingAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsnonstop, crafting individual townsandbending the environments to their will, but some creations go above and beyond the call of duty. This one, shared by Twitter user hinopika, is pretty insane. Not content with just making an individual city, they pretty much forged the entire spirit ofPokemon GoldandSilverinto their island. In this lengthy two minute video they walk us through their town (which is perfectly located in the bottom right hand corner: great planning, as you can’t move the resident services building) and beyond....

TGS: Earth Defense Force 3 perhaps more awesome on Vita

I never tire of shooting giant bugs, so I was thrilled to see D3 publisher with not one, but twoEDFtitles on the Tokyo Game Show floor.Earth Defense Forces 3 Portableis port of the game we know asEarth Defense Force 2017in North America and retains all of the B-movie charm of the original, just smaller. The organization of the game’s content as individual stages plays well to the strengths of a handheld and it controls just as well as it did the first time around (maybe better)....

This hour-and-a-half Nioh speedrun isn’t messing around

Running scared Niohis still new. There are untold builds, routes, and exploits left for the community to discover. And yet here we already are, two weeks after release, with a 1:36:51 “All Main Missions” run byDistortion2. There’s a lot of running and weaving around enemies, of course, but even that is easier said than done for a beefy, occasionally maze-y game like this so soon after launch. If you’re still feeling outNioh, you’ll get at least two takeaways from this video: 1) the kusarigama in high stance is heavenly and 2) magic is absurdly powerful, and it’s worth taking the time to read through and plot out its skill upgrades....
