The announcement ofBayonetta 2as a Wii U exclusive is destined to go down as one of the big “betrayals” of gaming history, right up there alongsideFinal Fantasy VIIon the PS1. So-called “fans” of the originalBayonettawere quick to express theirdispleasureat the news, and not even anexplanationof the situation by Platinum Games president Tatsuya Minami could quell the fire. Bayonetta 2is being published by Nintendo, strongly implying that no other company was willing to throw its support behind the title....

Will the PlayStation 4 console be revealed? Sony has announced that they’ll be holding their annual E3 press conference on June 02, 2025 at 6PM PT. Sony hasn’t said anything beyond the date, but you can expect the conference to be livestreamed, as well as covered live right here on Destructoid. Sony Computer Entertainment has just come out and said it: it thinks it’s possible that all of your private data may have been obtained. In a recent PlayStation Blog update, Sony says that while its “still investigating the details of this incident” it believes that an “unauthorized person” may have obtained your private information. By “information,” it means basically everything: your name, address, country, email address, birthday, and your login and password....

Best looking FPS on the Vita I’ve playeda good chunk ofMercenaryon the PlayStation Vita not too long ago and it’s pretty great. Gorgeous visuals, and some solid controls for a handheld first-person shooter. Hopefully there will be a decent multiplayer community that forms around this one.

Rage against the machine We’ve all been there before — a maddeningly difficult part of a videogame; you’ve been trying for hours to best it. You just can’t. Maybe you never will. This might be impossible, actually. The developers must’ve been complete sadists to even include this. Bastards. Then, like magic, the stars align for what looks to be one glorious run to put an end to this tedium. This is it!...

Japanese giant Square Enix nowlays out the listof their wares, and it shows that some classic Square franchises are making a comeback. The listingTobal M(pictured above) is an eyebrow raiser… until you find out that it’s a mobile game. Actually, half of their listed playable titles are Mobile only. We can appreciate that the mobile gaming market is growing in Japan, but they have to understand that non-Japanese gamers are going to be a bit bummed....
