Wow … I know that Sony can go a little nuts when it comes to weird PS3 commercials, butthis Chilean adreally takes home the prize. The commercial portrays a gamer giving blood to a Nazi officer. Seriously, Sony is telling consumers that PS3 fans are essentially Nazi sympathizers. To be fair, the Nazi in question is meant to be Erwin Rommel, generally considered the best of a bad lot, but even so, this is has caused quite a bit of uproar since its unveiling....

This is a bowling league that uses Wii consoles installed in various bars around New York, and lets drunken gamers continue to get drunk and wear ugly bowling shirts without having to put on the silly shoes....

Europe came close to Japan! It’s pretty well known that there are a lot of EuropeanOne Piecefans out there (which iswhy they got this EU-specific special edition), and now hard data from Bandai Namco supports that fact. According to the publisher,One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3sold 380,000 units in Japan, Europe had 320,000, then Asia with 200,000, and North America with 100,000. In total, that tops one million copies sold. I had a chance to speak to Tecmo Koei’s Hisashi Koinuma a while back and he also specifically reiterated the strong fanbase in Europe....

Happy Halloween? In the first trailer forPokemon Go, we saw a lot of cool shit. Battling on the spot, trading, and a fight with Mewtwo in Times Square. We all knew that the reality wasn’t going to be nearly as enticing, but I don’t think anyone could have predicted how badly Niantic has handled the game since launch. It’s been over three monthssince the game was released, and the only real step forward has been a better sense of server stability, partially due to the fact that so many people have quit....

Spoilers ahead! For a very long time now, theSmash Bros.community has been on the edge of its seat as Nintendo slowly dripped reveals as to the roster for the upcoming Wii U and 3DS games. One huge leak may have smashed that strategy into oblivion and pulled back the curtain on the remaining fighters that will complete the 2014Smashline-up. Last week, someone posted an off-screen shot on 4chan of what appeared to be the complete character selection screen from the 3DS version....

From Croteam Today at the PC Gaming Show, Croteam announced the brand newSerious Sam VRproject. It’ll launch this summer in Early Access, and will lead with Sam and his attempt to lead a resistance against an alien threat yet again. It basically looks like an HTC Vive tech demo (“fighting hordes in every direction” is mentioned, which shows its arcadey tint), but maybe there will be something special here given that theSamseries is known for its absurdity?...

Uhhh… After numerousdelays, several off-the-walldemos, and a dash ofbiting political commentary,South Park: The Fractured But Wholehas finally gone gold. Ubisoft decided to celebrate the milestone by releasing a brand-new trailer that makes fun of Kanye West and his video gameOnly One, andFlappy Bird. It’s a fitting end for this prolonged development cycle, and as always, the trailer contains some questionable humor from Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The green fish are in reference to the “Fishsticks”South Parkepisode from Season 13, where West accepts his life as a gay fish, and jumps into the sea....

Tinybuild and Matt Dabrowskihave announcedthatStreets of Rogue 2, the anticipated sequel to the hectic sandbox game, is having its Early Access debut pushed back to June 22, 2025. It wasoriginally plannedto be released on August 14. The press release states thatStreets of Rogue 2will take “additional time to sharpen its tools of destruction.” It doesn’t get any more specific with its details. In fact, when I initially read the PR, it sounded like it was excitedly announcing the launch date, and I had to re-read it to realize that it had an apologetic tone....
