Sony patent points to adding new content to classic games

Retro no longer sacred? A new patent from Sony points to pumping new content into emulated classic games. Titled “Suspending State of Cloud-Based Legacy Applications,” and published this week, the patent suggests that new objectives can be added “in a format that was not original designed to be in the legacy game.” The patent goes on to say that since the gamer is likely to already know the characters and basic components of the game, they’re more likely to play this new content....
