Trying to smack injustice in the face Within the past year or so, there’s been a new crop of social games that, one might say, have a conscience. Their goal isn’t so much taking your money as it is encouraging you to be an organ donor or convincing you to give money to charity.Half the Sky Movement: The Gameis the latest one in that line. The rather oddly named game is based on the “Half the Sky” movement, which seeks to educate and raise awareness for women’s issues around the world....

Today Sony revealed that it’s shifting its strategy with live service games. The company is scaling back the number of live service games it plans by fiscal year 2025 to launch by half. In case you didn’t remember, just last May Sony announced ambitious plans torelease a total of 12 live service gamesby the end of its fiscal 2025. In theory, having a deep catalog of live service titles would give Sony a steady stream of income from players who fully bought into their favorite games....

Retro no longer sacred? A new patent from Sony points to pumping new content into emulated classic games. Titled “Suspending State of Cloud-Based Legacy Applications,” and published this week, the patent suggests that new objectives can be added “in a format that was not original designed to be in the legacy game.” The patent goes on to say that since the gamer is likely to already know the characters and basic components of the game, they’re more likely to play this new content....

I think I just splat my pants… [Update: As of ver. 1.1.2, the ticket glitch no longer works.] Those precious meal tickets are hard to come by inSplatoon 2. Currently, they’re only available through Salmon Run and the single-player modes. However, an easy exploit has been found (viaGameFAQs), so you’ll never have to worry about fighting on an empty stomach again! [Disclaimer: Nintendo isn’t known for handing out severe punishments for abusing exploits (Animal Crossing will scold you for save scumming though…), but, if you decide to give this method a shot, you are doing so at your own risk....
