Even more Fruit Ninja Kinect DLC… in space!

Halfbrick isn’t kidding around with downloadable content forFruit Ninja Kinect. It’s now released the second content pack, “Space Capsule,” which is available for 160 MS Points. The pack adds a new star chart backdrop, a “Stellar Shadow” silhouette, and a “Comet Blade.” Is that worth two bucks? Your call, but maybe this will sweeten the deal: new Achievements have been included, which add 50 Gamerscore points. I likedFruit Ninja Kinect....

Evil Genius is back on Facebook of all places

Play the open beta I love me someEvil Genius. Enough that I’m willing to tryEvil Genius Online, which is Rebellion’s free-to-play approximation of the classic base-building game. It’s playable now inopen beta on Facebookand while it’s got the usual baggage that goes along with Facebook gaming, it is still unmistakablyEvil Genius. Not the total disaster it could’ve been, then. “When we launched the closed beta, we made it a priority to reach out to fans of the 2004Evil GeniusPC game rather than a wider audience,” said Rebellion CEO and creative director Jason Kingsley in a press release....

Fake Game Friday: Nou Kaifuku

I love Mushishi. It’s a really wonderful anime. Set in classical Japan, Ginko, a Mushi doctor, visits people with mysterious illnesses that are caused by things called mushi. The atmosphere, setting, the art, the music, everything. So, from that anime, the idea for Nou Kaifuku spawned. Plot Set in a more classical Japan setting (e.g. Tokugawa period), perhaps even an authentic and realistic one (save for the giant enemy crabs), this game would be dynamic and hopefully be a totally different experience for each player....

Five games we could really Kinect with

Kinect, as it stands right now, is a “pretty cool” thing. As a supplement to the general operation of an Xbox 360, it’s hard for me to imagine living without it now that it’s in my home. As an accessory designed for the purpose of playing games, it meets with significantly less success. While there are a few stand-out titles such asDance Central, Kinect has failed thus far to move beyond a novelty because there simply isn’t enough high-quality software demonstrating how great it could be....
