Sony removes intrusive WipEout HD advert

Last night, we talked aboutWipEout HD‘s latest patch, which included a few nasty surprises for those wanting to play the new “Fury” content. In-game ads had been smuggled onto the game, which ordinarily wouldn’t be a problem — that is, until it came to light that the ads were increasing loading times, forcing the game to slow down so that paying customers could be marketed to. While a few people claimed this wasn’t the case and that I was just a dirty biased liar with all the fat bias making biased mountains out of biased molehills, it seems that one entity agrees with me that these ads were not acceptable — Sony itself....

TGS: Steel Battalion Heavy Armor left me impressed

Even though there were only two games that ever used it and it was expensive as hell, I really loved theSteel Battalioncontroller. I love mechs so much and I always figured that controller was the closest I would ever get to piloting a mech in real life. By some stroke of luck, Capcom decided that they would revisit the series and the team saw the Kinect as the best means of bringing that simulation mech combat action to gamers....

The Cave is coming to iPhone and iPad

Double Fine’s adventure game is iOS bound this summer Ron Gilbert’s only game with Double Fine,The Cave, is bound for iOS devices this summer.Touchgen have had some hands-on timewith port being handled by SEGA and say the touch-screen controls work pretty well. Pointing on the screen to move your character seems like a much more appropriate solution to movement rather than using virtual buttons or joysticks. I’d be interested to see how the platforming is handled on the iOS version as that’s somethingConrad raised in his review as a problem with the original console and PC versions....

Though cheaters are trying hard, Battlefield 6 devs have already swept over 300,000 of them

Cheaters seem to be trying their hardest to hack inBattlefield6, using what appear to be highly sophisticated pieces of software (and probably even hardware) to inject various nefarious stuff into the game. However, EA’s intrusive measures are proving effective, as over 330,000 cheaters got banned in two days. According to EA’s SPEAR anti-cheat team, the Secure Boot requirement is proving quite effective at combating cheaters, given that the system allows EA to recognize anything that seems to be “off....
