PlayStation’s new Flash Sale is for lovers

Just like Ohio It’s time for Sony to throw anotherPlayStation Flash Sale, an event that challenges the very notion of the word “flash.” This sale lines up with Valentine’s Day, a holiday for romanticism, conversation hearts, and cheap video games (apparently). And, it doesn’t end until the morning of February 15 — some three days from now. According to the sale’s main page, 122 items are discounted across PS4, PS3, PS Vita, but it’s not quite that many games....

Fahrenheit rising A few months back, reports startedcoming out that developer Quantic Dream, known for titlesHeavy RainandFahrenheit, had allegedly been running a fairly toxic workplace. Race through ten Chipzel songs on a laser track in Spectra

Billed as ‘F-Zero meets Audiosurf’ “F-ZeromeetsAudiosurf” brings some vivid imagery to mind, but after watching the above trailer, I’m not sure I agree with that tagline for the indie racerSpectra. Sure, it’s set to some bumpin’Chipzeltracks, but it looks like levels are designed rather than procedurally generated, and there does not appear to be any music importing. The aesthetic is also more reminiscent of something likeTempestthanF-Zero. Still,Spectralooks pretty cool. It is currently available for Windows and Windows Phone, and there releases planned for more popular smartphone operating systems, as well as Xbox One....

Review: Swords & Soldiers

Swords & Soldierscame out for WiiWare last week and I had no idea it even existed (IshouldprobablyreadDestructoidmore often). Frankly, the idea of a 2D side-scrolling RTS was something that I had not even considered the possibility of. On reflection, I’m sure there are games which have attempted the formula before, but I don’t believe that I have ever played one. All that changed for me this past week and I think I’m a better man for it....

Sony gets a little catty over DSi

The DSi launches this weekend in case you were living in a cave or like ignoring major gaming news, and whenever a major system launches the competitors have to say something, right? It makes sense; the competition has a new toy and you don’t want everyone rushing over to it, so you chirp up with a few words about how your toy is still really cool. What you do not do is come out spewing things that most people know aren’t true and thus come out sounding like a total jerk....
