Blizzard has an in-depth panel planned
We had an inkling that we’d soon find out who’s the newestOverwatchhero. Most recently, that has been based on apretty blatant teaseby Blizzard. These sorts of things generally aren’t hinted at so strongly unless something big is imminent. Now we have confirmation that we’ll find out this character’s identity within two weeks’ time.
The reason for that is becauseBlizzard is holding a panelat San Diego Comic-Con on July 21 that’s called “Behind The Scenes ofOverwatch‘s Newest Hero.” It’d be awfully hard to continue to conceal the character beyond this panel. We can probably expect that the 22nd hero will be announced at or before SDCC.
If popular consensus holds up, the new hero will be Sombra (“¡Es Sombra!”), a sniper with healing properties. She’s the one that has gotten all the attention through small in-world referencesandshe perfectly fits the tease from earlier this week. There’s a maximum of 13 days left until we know for sure, but come on — we pretty much already know for sure, right?
