‘I’m actually taking pictures of this so I can blow it up in a video game’

Noclipcontinues to be one of my favorite projects within the industry. Their behind-the-scenes documentary series covering the development ofDOOM,The Witness, and many others are some of the most inspiring pieces of work to someone such as myself who dreams of working in video production.

Now, Danny O’Dwyer and the Noclip crew will be going behind the scenes at Bethesda Game Studios in a two-part series covering their history — everything from founding the company itself and the “goofy” box art ofArena, to packaging the games in their basement to ship them out. We’ll also get “insight into the development ofMorrowind,Oblivion,Fallout 3,Skyrimand many others.” Even more notably, the series will also be diving into the design, world, and mechanics ofFallout 76.

Given the recent announcement ofFallout 76, this could honestly be their most ambitious piece of work to date. Especially considering the polarizing receptionFallout 76has been already getting and the general lack of information currently out there on the game.

The first part, “The History of Bethesda Game Studios,” will be airing Tuesday, June 5. Part two, “The Making ofFallout 76,” will be airing Tuesday, June 12 (the same day E3 starts).
