Early this morning, weinformedyou that Nintendo had settled on a June 19 release date forOcarina of Time 3Din the US. Nintendo has now supplied us with alistof first- and third-party titles that will be dropping on its platforms through the end of the summer. As was (disappointingly) expected, the Wii and DS lineups are rather anemic, while the 3DS lineup doesn’t feature anything we weren’t already aware of.
However, thereisa “surprise” in the form ofWii Play: Motion, a follow-up to the near-launch Wii Remote hitchhiker that everyone loves to talk smack about.Motionwill include 12 new minigames as well as the updated Wii Remote Plus. It looks to have a release date of June 13, just a week prior toOcarina.
I have mixed feelings about this news. Nintendo is really feeling the heat to turn Wii’s fortunes back, but I’m disappointed that it is resorting to reaching back into the Wii’s launch window library for a quick injection. It’s like Nintendo is tapped out of ideas for the Wii Remote. I’m also not sure if aWii Playsequel will have any kind of impact at this point.
