The firstMortal Kombat 1DLC characters have finally been showcased in a brand-new trailer.

While series creator Ed Boon had coyly stated they wouldn’t be showing an Omni-Man gameplay trailer at New York Comic-Con, that didn’t stop them fromdropping the trailer online.

The trailer reveals Omni-Man,voiced by J.K. Simmons, confronting Liu Kang. Liu threatens Omni-Man to kick things off, promising that while Omni-Man has destroyed worlds,he has erased whole timelines.

That doesn’t seem to phase Omni-Man, though, who gladly spends the trailer beating the absolute snot out of Liu Kang and Scorpion.

Omni-Man’s subway train fatality

Omni-Man’s release coincides with the return ofInvincibleto Amazon Prime Video, as well as the 20th anniversary of theInvinciblecomic. In the original story, Omni-Man is presented as a Superman pastiche whose son develops superpowers, taking the name Invincible. However, Omni-Man reveals he is actually on Earth to conquer it and hopes to do so with his son at his side.

There are, in fact, multiple nods to the comic included, especially his two fatalities, which reference him holding Invincible up to an oncoming train and Omni-Man’s crushing of Red Rush’s skull when he murderedInvincible‘s version of the Justice League.
