Multiplayer mode will retain support

This weekend, BioWare posted an update regarding what the future holds forMass Effect: Andromeda: apparently nothing, as the game’s most recent update is the last update, patch or piece of single-player content that the sci-fi RPG will see.

This is of no real surprise, especially consideringlast month’s newsthat developers BioWare Vancouver is to be absorbed into Jade Raymond’s EA Motive Studios.

“Our last update, 1.10, was the final update forMass Effect: Andromeda,” reads the statement, posted on the officialMass Effectsite. “There are no planned future patches for single-player or in-game story content.”

It feels a somewhat ignoble end for the game, which was chastised on release for a whole host of reasons, ridiculed for its antiquated mechanics, voice-acting and comical animations, though many players would eventually defend it as a perfectly fun experience.

This isn’t the end of the road forMass Effecthowever, according to the recently reappearing series directer Casey Hudson. Responding to a fan’s tweet, Hudsonassures usthat he still loves the franchise “too much not to work on it again in the future.”
