As one of the best remakes and games I’ve ever played, I strongly recommend picking this one up if you haven’t already. If there was an apt comparison, it would probably be the “Demon’s Souls” of 2D games. Featuring cryptic puzzles, and gameplay that forces you to actually learn how to play rather than holding your hand, it’s a breath of fresh air in the contemporary market.
I really hope that there’s a sequel someday, but given how long it took to get this remake off the ground, and how much the developers and publishers have on their plate already, I’m not sure when that will happen.
