I skipped over the Iron Banner appearances (week-long PVP events) inDestiny. By the time they hit, I always had the top raid gear anyway, and the concept of playing the same modes with a slightly different stat modifier wasn’t intriguing in the slightest. Thankfully this iteration, debuting today, should fare a little better.

For starters, bounties now grant Legendary Marks, and you can complete dailies or weeklies to work towards that goal — at the very least, you can load up on marks. Rewards have also been said to be improved (along with the drop rate), and the new gear actually has a unique medieval theme.

In essence, Iron Banner may be worth doing for a day or two if the rewards are on point. I’ll be giving it a go later todayonce I finish Oryx thrice.
