A Guardian’s weapon is only as good as the perks it rolls with.Destiny 2players have known this for some time, but how many know exactly why certain traits trump others? Beneath the cool names and flashy functions, a little understanding can go a long way. And that’s true even for a mundane-sounding trait like Rapid Hit.

Inthe currentDestiny 2sandbox, almost all weapons come with two weapon traits alongside a barrel and ammo perks. While the barrel and ammo perks can help round out a weapon’s feel, the traits define play style. Though some traits are relatively straightforward, others, like Rapid Hit, benefit players more when they know how it works.

What does Rapid Hit do?

The Rapid Hit trait inDestiny 2is a valuable weapon perk for players who prioritize precision and efficiency in combat. This trait is activated by landing precision hits, which act as critical hits on an enemy’s weak points. Each precision hit grants a stack of Rapid Hit, improving both reload speed and stability for 2 seconds. The effect can stack up to five times.

Each stack significantly enhances stability (increasing by 2, 12, 14, 18, and 25) and reload speed (increasing by 5, 30, 35, 42, and 60). Additionally, the reload duration multiplier decreases to 0.99x, 0.96x, 0.95x, 0.945x, and 0.92x with each stack.
