Any time a newCall of Dutyentry drops, the one question on everyone’s mind is, “How many gigs will this file need?” The franchise has been known to take up a substantial amount of space, especially with the introduction ofCoDHQ. So, if you’re wondering about theBlack Ops 6install size, here’s what you can expect.
How many gigs is Black Ops 6?
As of now, Activision has yet to provide a definitive answer on theBlack Ops 6storage size. However, what we do know is that the speculated 300GB file size is not a confirmed figure for the full release. TheCall of DutyUpdates page has clarified this, stating that the estimated storage space onBO6’spre-ordersite is not an accurate reflection of the actual download size.
The 300GB size is a cumulative figure from the full installation of previous entries, such asMW2,Warzone, andMW3. It’s important to note that you can downloadBlack Ops 6as a standalone game without the necessity of having the other titles.

Based on the file sizes of previous games, we can attempt to estimate theBlack Ops 6file size. For example,Modern Warfare 3Multiplayer and Campaign Packs are about 58GB. On the other hand, my install size currently sits at a whopping 200GB due to other patches likeWarzoneandMW2. This suggests that if you want the fullBlack Ops 6experience, you may need to set aside a significant amount of storage space.
We can also look at pastBlack Opsiterations to get another rough install size for the sixth entry. WhileBO4requires a minimum space of 42.35 GB,Black Ops Cold Warneeds at least 312 GB (shown in the PlayStation Store). Although theCold Wardownload is pretty hefty, you can lower it by removing specific modes.

By considering these numbers, I suggest having 100GB or even 200GB to play it safe. Fortunately, theBlack Ops 6Betafile size will be much lower than this, as these patches are roughly 27GB. Whatever the case may be, we’ll make sure to update this guide as more information becomes available.
