SinceSuper Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remixwas first announced, it seemed like it would be an obvious hit. So it’s no surprise that it actually is.
Capcom has announcedthatSSFIITHD Remix, despite its obnoxiously long title, has sold over 250,000 “units” year to date. This number not only breaks 30 day sales records for a digital download, but sales also “shattered” day-one and week-one sales records. It appears the game is well on its way to become one of digital downloads biggest success stories on both the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade.

The game is good, for sure. But even despite remixed music tracks and gameplay tweaks in the form of “rebalancing,” one can imagine that most players might think it’s justStreet Fighterwith a new coat of paint … and itstillsold 250,000 units. How does this bode for next year’sStreet Fighter IVrelease? Very well indeed.
