Epic is boosting XP and giving out a pickaxe to make up for December’s login issues
If you had some trouble logging intoFortniteduring its recent outages, you can pick up some freebies this weekend. Epichas announceda few thank-you gifts to players who had to deal withFortniteserver outages that will arrive on Friday.
For those who missed it, theFortniteservershad a few outages last month. Players were unable to log in, as Epic investigated the stability issues. The servers did come back online in each case, and now theFortnitedeveloper is looking to make good for the time lost.

To wit,Fortnitewill host a Power Leveling Weekend starting on Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. and running through Jan. 10, at 7 a.m. ET. These weekends usually boost up your experience gain, so it’s a nice time to really grind out levels for whatever rewards you’re aiming for.
Also, anyone who logged in during Winterfest will get a new Crescent Shroom Pickaxe, before it goes into theFortniteShop. So if you were one of the folks frustrated with the downtime last week, seems like you can put in some overtime starting on Friday.
With all the Spider-Man andGears of Warcosmetics to tally up in the latest season, the Power Leveling weekend inFortniteseems like a good time to get it all done. I’m also not really sure what a Crescent Shroom is either, but either way, a free pickaxe is a free pickaxe.
