The deal kicks off with the upcomingIron Mangame

EA and Marvel have locked in a deal for at least three action-adventure games. Electronic Arts will develop the titles, set in the Marvel universe, for PC and console.

The deal was first reported today byBloomberg,followed by anannouncement from EA. Marvel and Electronic Arts will collaborate on “at least three” new action-adventure games, available for PC and console.

These games will be original stories set in the Marvel universe, and we already know about one of them. EA Motive wasrecently confirmedto be working on anIron Mangame.

“At Marvel, we strive to find best-in-class teams who can take our characters on heroic journeys in ways they haven’t before, and collaborating with Electronic Arts will help us achieve that,” said Marvel Games executive VP Jay Ong. “We pride ourselves on being enthusiastic, creative collaborators with developers so they have the freedom to create something deeply unique and truly remarkable. The team at Motive is getting started on that with theirIron Manvideo game and we can’t wait for players to learn more in the far future.”

EA has a history with theStar Warsseries already. Games likeStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderhave done pretty well. Well enough, in fact, that Respawn’s working onseveral moreStar Warsprojects.

With a Marvel deal locked in, it looks like Electronic Arts is deepening its ties to Disney properties.
