Iron Banner + Easter egg = Reaper
AlthoughDestiny 2‘s Lord Saladin sounds like Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) in the flesh, he’s actually played by Keith Ferguson, who also happens to voice Reaper inOverwatch. Now I think you know where this is going, given that Activision Blizzard is keen to stuffOverwatchreferences in nearly everything.
Yep, if you happen to play Iron Banner inDestiny 2and score a 20-person kill streak, you’ll trigger a “Die! Die! Die!” voiceline from Saladin, a reference to Reaper’s Death Blossom ultimate. As a cute cutaway Saladin coughs and proclaims that he’s been “watching too many Iron Banner matches,” keeping the whole thing in-character.
This is the right kind of balance — I doubt anyone will find this obnoxious unless you really hateOverwatch.
