Chiptunes, ponies and Japan
Some might be familiar with chibi-tech from prior projects such asChiptuned Rockmanwhere the ever-impressive chiptuner offered a spotless melodic arrangement of “Roll’s Theme” that included dialogue constructed entirely out of NES sounds. If you think that’s impressive, however, it pales in comparison to what you’re about to hear.
As a parting gift to the recent Blipfest Tokyo (which unfortunately is no more), chibi releasedMoe Moe Kyunstepthrough bandcamp. This two-part pop/trash/dub-step track is beyond anything you’ve heard out of the NES, making use of the VRC6 expansion. Of course, the song also features a healthy dose of chibi magic with leads made into chants and dialogue.
