Oh, so that’s what they’re calling it…

If you see “Battlefield 4” or “DICE,” it’s likely the word “patch” is about to follow. I don’t see that changinganytime soon, unfortunately. The latest patch for the PC version of the game, out now, addresses an issue with timing that could result in two players killing each other simultaneously.

The full patch notes can be found at the bottom of this post, or at the link below. From what I’ve heard of other players’Battlefield 4experiences, the other standout here seems to be a “fix for a crash that would cause the game to stall, resulting in a sound loop. This should eliminate most of the problems relating to this.”

DICE says it’s also now aware of players running SLI who are seeing graphical flickering and an issue where the revive bar would remain on-screen. Those fixes aren’t in this patch, however.

“Netcode” improvementWe’ve addressed the so-called “Kill trading”. This refers to when two players fire at each other and, seemingly, both die at the same time. The time window where a bullet could cause damage from an already dead player is now calculated as intended, decreasing the timeframe when players with high latency could get a kill, even though they should be dead according to the server.
