13 years after release… sort of
It’s not every day you see a 13-year-old game get an expansion, is it? Well that’s sort of what’s happening toAge of Mythology: The Extended EditionwithTale of the Dragon.
Technically, theExtended Editionactually only came out last year and so it isn’t really the “13-year-old game” theannouncement blog postis claiming it is, but it’s still not every day HD remakes get brand new content, so I’ll allow it.

Developers SkyBox Labs and Forgotten Empires already have a history in developing expansions for much older games. They were also behindThe Forgottenexpansion for the HD re-release ofAge of Empires 2,and that was 14 years after the original game.
Other than the fact it exists, there’s not a whole lot we’ll know aboutTale of the Dragonuntila livestream on October 2, where the developers will reveal all. They’re reallydragonthis announcement out…

I’m going to hazard a guess (and stop me if this is too out of nowhere) that it will borrow from Eastern mythology, as opposed to the core game’s Greek influences. I don’t know why I think that, just a hunch.
